About

Lori Peterkin

I grew up in Chomedey Laval Quebec with my little sister and our wonderful parents. Thinking back on it, it was like a childhood straight out of a movie.  Riding our bikes everywhere, playing outside all day long and only coming in when the streetlights came on.

In French there is a saying—Chez Moi.  It translates to ‘at my house’, but with a much deeper meaning than the English—more like ‘how we do things at my house’, and having such a happy home, I always felt proud of how that made me feel.

My favourite thing to do when we came inside was to build Lego homes for my Kiddles. Remember them? Tiny two inch dolls with colourful hair down to their feet?  They came in fancy perfume-style bottles and they smelled good. I spent hours daydreaming and creating beautiful spaces for those little dolls. Who knew that Kiddles and Lego would set me on the path to where I am now?

My family moved to Agincourt Ontario where I went to High School and met Mr. Mawson in grade 10.  He taught drafting and I was the only girl in his class. There was no question in my mind after taking that course that I would pursue design in college.  That led me to a career I loved, designing both commercial and residential spaces.

Fast forward through marriage and children and separation and loss to finally having the calm and time to follow a passion that sparked in me somewhere along the way…

It turns out that, like my Mom (and so many in my family) connecting people and their lifestyles together with their perfect homes, was my calling. I started my real estate business in 2009 and have worked with so many fabulous clients since then.

So much has happened since those cherished days back in Chomedey. I am so excited to be evolving my business once again.  I’ve met so many wonderful women over the years who find themselves ‘suddenly single’ and feeling lost.  You are the reason I’ve designed a real estate program specifically for newly single women to embrace new beginnings and find your fresh start.  It’s called The Chez Moi Blueprint in honour of how YOU will do things at YOUR house.
